Professional Colour Control
Whether you're creating fine art work, selling commercial prints or proofing, colour accuracy is crucial. The supplied printer driver and Easy-PhotoPrint Pro provide a choice of three different colour modes for precise colour control. Linear Tone
Linear Tone maintains the image's original properties for hue, gradation, contrast and brightness, reproducing your image adjustments with accuracy. This is particularly relevant where an image has been retouched or optimized in an image editing program. Photo Colour
Suitable for photographers who want to minimise post-production work. Photo Colour is the default mode for all PIXMA printer drivers, and automatically optimises your images to produce beautiful, full contrast prints without the need for image adjustment. ICC Profiles
This mode allows you to manage colour accuracy using industry-standard colour profiles for input and output devices. This gives the best accuracy, by mapping colours from the input device (most likely a Digital SLR, Digital stills camera, or scanner) to the ‘working space’ in your computer (usually sRGB or Adobe RGB), and then to the colour space of the printer & paper combination in use. Canon provides ICC profiles for the PIXMA Pro Mark II series of printers for use with compatible Canon papers, and profiles for a number of compatible high quality medias from third party manufacturers such as Hahnemühle, Canson, Moab and Pictorico. These are downloadable from the Canon Europe Software Download centre. Additionally, select third party manufacturers such as Hahnemühle, Ilford, Permajet and Canson provide a wider range of profiles for their papers. Please see their websites for more information. Ambient Light Correction Available with Easy-PhotoPrint Pro under Windows Vista and Windows 7, Ambient Light Correction allows you to specify what the lighting conditions will be in the place where the image will be displayed - for example in a shop or gallery, both of which could have different lighting conditions to your studio. The PIXMA Pro Mark II series then prints with colours adjusted to compensate for the display conditions.
